Our Post Practicum Interns are individuals who have completed their Masters Degree in Counselling or a related field and have completed 200+ hours of clinical experience. These individuals can offer discounted rates until they receive their full licensing.


Counselling - Clinical Interns

Masters Level Clinical Interns provide low fee services ($50 per session or less). Sessions with our clinical interns are not eligible for extended health benefits/reimbursement.

Glenn (he/they) holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology from City University in Vancouver. He is also a Registered Nurse and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

Glenn has worked over 20 years in mental health and substance use services. Glenn’s areas of competence include working with individuals in the LGBTQIA community, addiction, depression, anxiety, anger and interpersonal violence. Having worked for over two decades as a frontline registered nurse, social worker and clinical counsellor in health care, Glenn has an interest in working with individuals in the health care field.

Glenn draws upon various modalities, including Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. Glenn is in his third and final year of Somatic Experiencing training.

Christina, a passionate Registered Social Worker, offers empathic support throughout her client’s mental health journeys. Holding a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from UBCO and five years’ as a healthcare social worker, she assists individuals and families through life transitions, illness, trauma, and more. Christina’s focus on supporting older adults and caregivers grew during her work in this field, leading her to complete an Advanced Diploma in Gerontology in 2018. Now, as a counsellor for the past year, she aims to create a safe space for clients to navigate complex thoughts and feelings, recognizing the challenges of seeking support.

In her person-centered and holistic counselling practice, Christina views her clients as the experts of their lives. Employing a Strengths-Based approach, she helps uncover inner strengths to overcome challenges. Thoughtfully integrating Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness based on clients’ unique needs, Christina ensures a Trauma-Informed and Anti-oppressive approach to hold her clients with genuine positive regard.

Jenni (she/her/hers) is passionate about helping people grow in deeper understanding about themselves, whether in their relationships, sex life, or their mind. She will help reframe shame and transform it into self-compassion. She creates a safe space for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and couples, as well as individuals in BDSM and ethical non-monogamous dynamics. Jenni creates a calm sanctuary where people can sort through the chaos of their lives or their mind, allowing them to discover what they truly want and need in their lives.

Jenni is Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Prior to becoming a counsellor, Jenni worked as a Registered Nurse for ten years in a variety of areas including hospital, crisis support, clinical education, and mental health and addictions case management.

Drawing from multiple therapeutic modalities, Jenni tailors her counselling approach to each client. Some of her favourite approaches include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), cognitive therapies (CBT, DBT, ACT), somatic tools, and many others. Jenni is a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional and is working towards AASECT certification.

Zoe (she/her) is currently completing a Masters of Social Work at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and is currently a practicum student with OK Clinical Therapy Group. She loves helping clients work through challenges, adjust to new life circumstances, and achieve their goals. Zoe has worked for eight years in the social services world and has a strong community connection and problem-solving background. She meets clients where they are at with compassion, empathy, and care.

Zoe has years of experience working with new families and families in transition and is experienced in helping with a variety of issues including perinatal mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. Zoe integrates mindfulness into her practice and has a particular interest in helping folks make and meet goals that align with both their needs and values.

Using a strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed approach, Zoe helps people to feel empowered to make changes in their life. She draws on many modalities depending on client needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Theory, and Ecological Systems Theory. Zoe is also working on her Couples Therapy training through the Gottman Institute.

Her career so far has focused on supporting families in their early formation, from relationships to pregnancy and childbirth to parenting small children, and all the change and opportunity these stages bring. Zoe also recently has had experience working with folks in crisis, including addictions, recovery, and housing and job loss.

Zoe has an undergraduate degree in Human Ecology from the University of Alberta and has specialized training to support families in the perinatal period, including as a doula and childbirth educator. In her free time, she loves hiking, running, crafting, cooking, reading, and playing with her dog.

Kathryn is a graduate student counsellor completing her Master of Clinical Social Work degree at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. With 8 years of experience in the mental health sector, she has developed expertise in client-centered and strengths-based approaches.

Specializing in trauma recovery through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Kathryn helps clients process difficult memories with reduced emotional intensity.
